Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll Claims He Never Tried to Sign Randy Moss

Last week former NFL great Randy Moss stated that the Seahawks tried to pull the wide receiver out of retirement to play for the reigning Super Bowl champs. The move would make sense: after losing Golden Tate to free agency and Percy Harvin to a trade, the Seahawks offense is starved of weapons for Russell Wilson to throw to.

However, Carroll has come out and said that he never tried to get Moss on his team after Harvin was traded away. “That never happened. That never happened,” Carroll said to reporters asking him about Moss’s recent statements. “Nobody asked that question, and, you know, that’s never happened.”

“I won’t say that I didn’t get a call from T.O., though,” Carroll joked.

Regardless of who was or who was not recruited for this offense, this wide receiver corps is in need of an upgrade.  The Seahawks will have to hope that their pair of rookie wide outs, speedster Paul Richardson, a second round pick from the University of Colorado, and the more physical Kevin Norwood, a fourth round pick out of Alabama, will be able to step up along with the forgettable Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse to give this team the shot of energy it needs to make another deep playoff run.
