Fantasy Football Sleeper Alert: Rookie TE Crockett Gillmore Starting

Owen Daniels will miss the Ravens’ Week 8 away game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Anyone who plays on DFS sites like FanDuel and DraftKings should be aware that Daniels’ replacement, rookie Crockett Gillmore form Colorado State University, is poised to outplay his low weekly salary.

That low salary is only $4,600 on FanDuel. With both an excellent matchup and a healthy projected number of targets, Gillmore should be able to score as many fantasy points as  higher-priced options like Jordan Cameron and Dwayne Allen, who are priced on Fanduel at $5,800 and $6,000, respectively.

The Bengals have a very strong secondary, with cornerbacks Leon Hall, Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, and Terrence Newman giving wide receivers of all shape and size a tough matchup. Steve Smith and Torrey Smith have their work cut out for them.

Gillmore, on the other hand, has a more attractive matchup against a Cincinnati linebacker and safety corps that isn’t near as good as their cornerbacks unit. Flacco already looks to his tight ends more than most quarterbacks, and he’ll have an especially good reason to do so against the Bengals.

After what is sure to be a solid performance, Gillmore’s salary will skyrocket. Take him while he is still dirt cheap. He’ll allow you to fit in some expensive can’t-miss players like Matt Forte and Dez Bryant this week.
